PostSubject: More of Vegeta   Wed Oct 29, 2008 4:26 am

The lines at the Super Market were almost enough to make Vegeta, the Prince of all Saiyans go crazy. First that damn Namek tricks me into doing his grocery shopping, and now I'm stuck waiting in these blasted lines for hours. The woman in front of him had a young child seated in their cart while she was busy reading the latest celebrity gossip. The child was examining Vegeta with a confused look on his face. Vegeta sneered and began returning the Childs look, until the boy stuck his tongue out at him. He growled and tapped the child's mother's shoulder with his finger, "excuse me miss but your child can't seem to keep his tongue inside his mouth." He said sarcastically.

The women let out a sigh before closing her magazine over her index finger to hold her place, she turned to face Vegeta and looked at him as if she was examining something that brought her great discomfort. He smiled up at her trying to refrain from ripping both of their heads completely off their bodies and throwing them at the cashier. She took a few seconds to look him over and than replied, "well you're a big boy you can handle it I'm sure." She smiled without letting it touch her face and went back to reading her magazine, scratching her sons head affectionately.

"On Vegeta, the kid would have been killed before he could have even walked. Humans are such a despicable race, much like rats." The Prince growled under his breath. He looked back at the people standing behind him in line and scowled daring one of them to comment on the matter. No one returned his gaze and he went back to looking at his own cart.

The women must have overheard him muttering something because when he turned back to face his cart she was looking at him with her arms folded across her chest. This time she had placed her magazine in her sons lap, whatever she had to say to him was obviously important enough to stop reading the celeb gossip all together. "Listen here shrimp, if you've got something to say than why don't you come on out and say it to my face, instead of muttering it under your breath like some kind of a coward." The last bit came out in a shout and now everyone who could see the verbal assault was watching him intently. The whole while her son sat smiling like a mad man at Vegeta, he thought it was the funniest thing in the world her mommy getting mad at someone for him being a brat.

Vegeta began to raise a hand to blast the woman and her son into the next dimension, until Kami's big green face popped into his mind, remember Vegeta, not all humans are warriors like Saiyans, you cannot go around killing innocent people and expect to keep your honor. "Damn old man," he muttered. Vegeta looked back at the lady coldly, "all I said was I think I forgot milk and that the line was too damned long to go and get some." He took a deep breath and tried to calm down as he gripped the handles to his cart until he could feel the metal begin to fold under his fingers.

The woman sniffed loudly to show just what she thought of Vegeta and looked down at her smiling son, "please do not use that word in front of my little angel, I don't want him growing up to be a barbarian like you." She patted her sons head softly smiling down at him and then returned to a blank stare directed at Vegeta.

He muttered an apology and did not take his eyes from his cart until it was his turn to be checked out. When the cashier finished ringing him up and bagging his groceries he piled them into his cart and began to leave. "Excuse me, sir? You still have to pay for all that, please." another employee over heard the call and saw Vegeta trying to exit and ran over to help.

"What? No Kami said to put this all on his tab, he said he'd pay for it later. I'm not paying for this, it isn't even for me."

"Well, than sir, I'm afraid you can't leave the store without paying for these things, we don't have on going tabs here. I've never even met anyone by the name of, Kami." The other employee who had come to help now rested both hands on Vegeta's cart trying to hold him from leaving.

"Fine, how much does it all come out to?"

"One-hundred and fifty zeni sir. would that be cash, credit or debit?"

Vegeta, pulled out his wallet and handed the cashier his card, "debit, please." she completed the transaction and handed his card back to him wishing him to have a beautiful day, and then dismissed him from her mind completely, asking for the next person in line. Vegeta walked his cart outside grabbed the bags all into one hand and flew off heading back to the Look Out thinking of the million good reasons he had to kill Kami.

Kami was in his usual place inside his home on top of the Look Out when Vegeta returned. "Namek! I'm going to kill you, you son-of-a." He pulled up short when he saw Kami patting the back an old man dressed in rags and a young boy who couldn't be more than fifteen, dressed much the same. The old man was trying in vane to wipe tears from his cheeks, and the boy at his side looked close to tears. Kami had many other duties besides the being The Guardian of Earth. One of these duties was listening to the Earth peoples problems and than advising on how to solve them. Vegeta guessed that the pair before Kami today where farmers who had hit a bit of a rough patch recently and now needed help.

"Ah, if it isn't my favorite student Prince Vegeta. Come here Vegeta this is, Norio," Kami patted the old mans back to show who he meant, "and his son Akihiko. They live in a small village not far from here and Norio here is the only farmer in the entire village. Recently insects attacked his crops and destroyed much of the food meant for his people. He is too old to replant the seed and, his son here cannot do it alone. I want you to go and see if you can help get the fields replanted and find out why the insects were able to destroy so much." Kami turned back to the old man and his son, "don't worry my friend, Vegeta will have everything restored for you in no time, your village will be fed and you will not be plagued by those insects any further."
The boy and his elderly father almost fell over eachother with thanks and praises aimed at Kami as they bowed themselves out of the room escorted by Mr. Popo. Neither the boy or his father so much as thanked Vegeta for the work he had been ordered to do. Vegeta put the bags on the counter in the kitchen and saw himself out side without so much as saying a word to Kami.

He stood outside the house near the door waiting for Kami. "I'm a Prince, planting seeds is not a task meant for a Prince. Or a warrior for that matter, I came here because I heard you were the greatest Master on Earth. Not so I could travel around fixing peoples problems for them. These humans are weak, weaker even than your fellow Namekians, they do not deserve your pity, or my assistance"

Kami looked out across the courtyard, studying a new group of flowers that Mr. Popo had recently added. He let a few moments pass before speaking, "Go Prince of Princes, seed this mans fields and find out why the insects are able to destroy so much. You have submitted yourself to my will in return for my training, if you wish to continue than you will obey me." Mr. Popo came and whispered something into Kami's ear and than took a step back waiting to escort Kami inside.

Vegeta bowed his head slightly and walked to the edge of the Look Out where the elderly man and his son stood waiting for him to fly them home.

"Kami, Vegeta was sent here to destroy Earth, we both know this, he admitted as much to us both. If you know why he is here than why do you continue his training? As the Guardian of Earth shouldn't you be fighting him?" asked Mr. Popo while the two walked down the hall of the home.

"No Mr. Popo, I will not fight him. Someone will be needed to protect Earth when I'm gone, I'm too old to be fighting great warriors such as him. My only hope is that he will come to love Earth in his fashion, only than can he be depended on to protect all that I love. Only then can he hope to reach his true power, but he is proud and must come to see this on his own. It is his inner demons he must fight, and it is my training that will prepare him to fight them." They entered a small room together and shut the door behind them.

With the young boy giving directions Vegeta flew them back to their shack of a home deep in the mountains. Most of the land had been cleared away for crops of all sorts. Including a large pin holding pigs, sheep, a few old tired looking horses and even a small group of cattle, almost too thin for meat. Grazing animals was hard in the mountains, whatever grass they could find must be climbed to first, so they wasted much energy just getting tot he food, never mind putting on weight. But in better years food could be purchased for the cows to fatten them up, meat was a rare delicacy for a mountain village. Vegeta could see rows of plants that looked to have already been picked over by a horde of starving bugs. He guessed that over eighty percent of the crops had been destroyed by the bugs.

The old farmer was tired from all the flying and so had to be put to bed by his son, Vegeta surveyed the crops while the elderly man was shown to his bed for a nap. The man's old wife brought Vegeta a cold glass of tea, but apparently did not think to sweeten it first. Vegeta tried to reject the offer, but the old bat wouldn't have it, she made him drink the first glass in front of her and then hobbled back inside to pour another. "Where is that damn boy, if I have to sallow another glass of that liquid shit I'm going to blast this entire farm and the village it feeds. Then Kami won't have to worry about these peoples problems. I'd probably be doing them all a favor as well."

Before the woman had a chance to get another glass down Vegeta's throat the boy came back out to help get the work under way. The kid showed Vegeta where all the tools were located, and the general way each one was meant to be used. After he felt Vegeta was familiar enough to use each tool properly he walked Vegeta up and down each row showing him which crop went in which place. After he taught Vegeta everything he could think to show him he asked for questions. When Vegeta had none he made the Prince repeat everything he had learned, correcting him in anything that was not repeated exactly as it had been learned. Vegeta thought of blasting the boy, the farm, and the village once more before diving into his work.

Day turned to night and the boy and Vegeta worked until they could no longer see. The farm didn't have lights rigged up around the crops for night working and so the boy called him in for dinner. The woman had prepared a feast for their guest. Chicken and rice smothered in gravy, freshly baked bread, and warm homemade butter and finally green beans. She had even made apple pie for after dinner. If one thing could be said for the human race, it was that they sure could cook.He reached for a plate and pulled his fingers back sticking them in his mouth and scowled at the lady for smacking his hand.

She made him say grace for reaching for the food first. After he stumbled over giving thanks to a god he'd never heard of he was aloud to eat his fill. Finally the young boy showed him to the barn where he could sleep in a bed they had made for him in the hay.

The next day he was shoved awake by the boy, who handed a plate of scrambled eggs, three pieces of toast with butter. Some bacon and sausage, and even a large piece of the leftover chicken from the dinner they had all shared. Vegeta almost asked for something to drink but than remembered that crazy old woman's iced tea and decided to drink from a hose instead. They ate their meal sitting together but didn't speak to each other as they ate. Instead they surveyed the rest of the work they would hopefully finish that day.

Vegeta liked the kid, as far as humans went he seemed all right to the Prince. He didn't complain about the work he had to do, he didn't cry about having to redo all the work. He just did it, in silence never muttering under his breath about what he thought of having to work so hard for so many hours. Most kids his age were out getting in trouble with girls, ditching school and causing problems for the rest of the people on Earth. This kid was completely different from anyone else Vegeta had come into contact with while on Earth, even the warriors being trained by Kami didn't act the same as this kid.

"I think if we work fast we can knock out the rest of this by the end of tonight." Vegeta said, looking out at the half replanted fields in front of them. The kid didn't say anything back and Vegeta turned to look at him. The boy just nodded his head grabbed his tools and walked out into the field he had been working on the day before. Vegeta shrugged and walked over to his set of tools, when he turned to walk to the field he had almost finished yesterday. The elderly woman was standing in front of him with a glass of tea smile beaming on her wrinkly face. He grabbed it downed its contents and smiled back at her holding off his grimace.

Today, like the day before flew by in a blur. Again they were almost called in by the darkness of night. Then Vegeta got an idea. "No, I know a way we can work in the night and finish this all right now. The sooner we get it all replanted the better, so how about it?" Vegeta looked over at the boy who had started to walk towards the tool shed. He just looked up into the stars and then looked back at Vegeta with a confused look painted on his face.

Vegeta powered up and shot several ki balls into the air where they came to rest twenty feet above the fields they had been working on. Each ball gave off a large amount of light and together they gave off more than enough to see by. Which meant they would be able to finish the work then and not have to wait another day. The boy smiled and ran back to the place he had been working. Vegeta wiped sweat from his face with the back of his hand and jumped back into his work as well, soon they were finished and all seated around the dinner table where, Vegeta once again made grace, only this time he offered to.

PostSubject: Re: More of Vegeta   Wed Oct 29, 2008 4:32 am

Vegeta spent one more night with the farmers and than after finding out who was supposed to have been their crop duster he was off on his way to pay the man a visit. There were no airfields near the farm, so the family had been forced to hire a man who lived in a nearby town. As it turned out the guy was supposed to be dusting a few of the local farms who provided food to the local villages. Apparently the man was the only pilot who was able to do the crops for them, so ultimately he could charge whatever he wanted to, and he was able to change the price at any given time.

After asking around the town Vegeta was able to get directions to the mans home, and private airfield. an old red crop dusting plane sat in a lone hanger not far from the small home. An old junky car sat in the driveway and a man with a missing tooth dressed in overalls with an orange colored rag hanging out of his back pocket leaned in the doorway holding a shotgun. As Vegeta walked up the path that lead to the house the man came out of the doorway and cocked his gun, to show Vegeta it was indeed loaded. He walked threateningly towards Vegeta, aiming the shotgun for the Princes chest. "Who the hell are you walking onto my property without me saying you could, huh boy?" The man slurred his words as if drunk and as he stepped towards Vegeta he stumbled over a rock and tripped. The gun went off and Vegeta aloud the BB's from the gun to deflect off his skin.

Vegeta chuckled to himself as he lifted the gun from the mans hands and bent the barrel around to the trigger guard. Then he handed the gun back to the man. "My name is Vegeta and I'm the Prince of all Saiyans, I've heard you haven't been holding your end of the bargain with a few of the farmers in this area? Want to tell me why?" Vegeta stood above the man who had not picked himself up from the gravel. Instead the man examined his shotgun, then he looked up at Vegeta and his mouth dropped open as what all had just happened registered in his mind.

"uhhhhh, ummmm, I didn't. I mean, they haven't paid me the money to do their crops yet. My plane don't fly on good deeds ya know, I gotta put gas in her and all I mean." He stammered over his words out of fear now, more than the booze. He started to get up off the ground so he could at least not have to stare up at Vegeta, but the Prince placed a boot on the mans thigh and held him to the ground sitting Indian style on the ground.

"You can't expect them to pay you what you ask and then when they come up with the money you take it and then raise your prices. What kind of scum sinks that low? Where is your honor, these people are human, as are you. Should you not be helping them instead of killing them." Vegeta spat as he continued to look down on the man.

"I didn't kill anyone."

"If you don't do your job than an entire village will not have food. They will all die, and that is a problem for me. And if they have a problem than I have a problem. Do you want me to have a problem with you?" Vegeta asked rhetorically.

"No, sir." The man answered promptly.

"Good, that is what I wanted to hear, now take go take a cold shower and get in that plane you have fields to dust, from now on you will come to Kami's Look Out, Kami will decide a fair price for you to be paid, and I will be checking in with the local farms to be sure you aren't trying this again, are we clear?" The man shook his head yes, and Vegeta let him run off to get his job done. The Prince took off for the Look Out eager to start his training once again, without having to worry about more farmers and more pointless tasks.
